Art Exhibition

Efrain Baus, Deputy Chief of Missions, inaugurates the exhibition next to Diana Chavez, mother of Darwin Godoy.

On August 17th , 2011, the Embassy of Ecuador in Washington D.C. inaugurated the art exhibition of Ecuadorian national, Darwin Geovanny Godoy, who currently serves a prison sentence in the United States.

At the inauguration, the Deputy Chief of Missions from Ecuador in the United States, Efrain Baus, emphasized that “one of the most important functions at the Embassy, a function that by itself justifies the reason for being, is the defense of Ecuadorians and the protection of their rights”. It is estimated that in the United States there are about 1.5 million people of Ecuadorian descent. Likewise, he mentioned that the paintings of Darwin Godoy inspire an exemplary message of peace, faith and hope.
